As part of the Roma Women’s Conference, organized by the The Croatian Romani Union “KALI SARA”, a fashion show was held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, in the ceremonial hall of the Diplomat Hotel, once again highlighting the importance of Roma culture and creativity in the local cultural scene. The event attracted a large number of guests, and thanks to the broadcast on Z1 television and the live stream on the Croatian Romani Union “KALI SARA” YouTube channel, the show could also be followed by a wider audience outside of Zagreb.

The show was hosted by Maja Grubišić and Boris Kosmač, known for his long-standing engagement in cultural projects and humanitarian initiatives. In addition to his hosting role, he also performed a musical piece that received particular acclaim. This event is extremely important for promoting Roma culture, tradition, and fashion – which we all know, but do not see enough. There is too little of it in the public space, so it is a tremendous pleasure for me that today, for the second time, I am the choreographer and host of the show and can contribute my experience to promoting Roma fashion culture, Kosmač stated. The musical program was complemented by Bojan Jambrošić, Stela Rade, and Erika Varga, whose performances alternated with the presentation of collections by different designers, giving the entire evening a harmonious rhythm and added emotional depth.

On the runway, creations by prominent names from the domestic and international fashion scene were showcased: Romani Design from Hungary, one of the most renowned European Roma brands, impressed the audience with its striking designs that combine traditional Roma patterns with modern urban style. Their distinctive visual identity, often symbolizing Roma pride and cultural heritage, captivated attendees. The domestic Roma brand Look Famous from Sisak presented elegant, contemporary pieces emphasizing refined modernity. Its designer, Albina Gaši, highlighted how important such events are for promoting the brand, raising visibility, and showcasing Roma women who are entrepreneurs – capable and courageous women contributing to society.

In addition to Roma designers, the show featured designer Greta Gudelj, demonstrating innovation through bold cuts, dynamic materials, and strong artistic expression in each piece, as well as the brand malaGbag, known for its handmade fashion accessories.

The runway was not only walked by Roma women from various parts of Croatia but also by numerous well-known personalities whose presence further enhanced the visibility of the event, including Aleksandra Grdić, former Miss Croatia and one of the most recognizable names in the domestic fashion scene; former Miss Tourism and first runner-up of Miss World, Jelena Katarina Kapa, and current Miss Tourism, Katarina Golec. In the days following the fashion show, the working part of the Roma Women’s Conference will take place, with Roma women arriving in Zagreb from numerous European countries.
