In recent decades, Roma women in Central and Southeastern Europe have shaped and transformed the policies of the Roma movement. In discussions of equality, they use the concept of intersectionality as a field of study, a critical practice, and a framework for creating new forms of knowledge and stimulating change. While emphasizing how sexism and racism coexist, they also question issues of class, gender and other factors that affect their identity, as well as the positioning of Roma gender politics in the broader Roma movement. The texts were created as part of a project to promote journalistic excellence led by the Agency for Electronic Media.
